The presence of Apple Ipad was facing new problems in the realities of consumer life, most consumers had decided they did not need and will not buy a new product.
It was revealed from a survey published yesterday, as recorded ITNews, (2/8/2010).
“There’s too much hype,” said Manish Rathi, founder of Sunnyvale, California-based company online retailers, Retrevo. In two opinion polls with more than 1,000 respondents in the American consumer, each carried out before the launch iPad, January 27 reveals, they claim to have most of the device and no longer need to buy a new one. They are more interested in a piece of bread today.
Two surveys that ask Retrevo consumers before and after the iPad is launched. When asked prior to January 27, 26% of those surveyed said they had heard of the iPad, but are not interested in buying it; the figure doubles to 52% after Apple CEO Steve Jobs took the stage in San Francisco and raised an iPad.
“That is the biggest number,” said Rathi. “When the product is out, more than half said, ‘I do not need it.”
However, Apple in the survey: The percentage of shows, consumers will buy one to three times before the announcement of 3% to 9% thereafter.
“But 52% is a pretty big number,” said Rathi. “This is not what you expect from the consumer.” That’s one reason why Rathi agree with others who argue that the iPad would not do anything compared to the iPhone.
No berminatnya consumers against iPad including iPad weaknesses that do not support Flash and multitasking, lack of applications and tambhan price of U.S. $ 130 for 3G connectivity.
More troubling for Apple, says Rathi, is the result of another survey, which was also filed before and after iPad is launched. When asked “Have you heard about the tablet PC, do you think you need it?” 49% answered “No” was the answer to the survey before January 27. Numbers to be increased after iPad is launched to 61%.
As quoted from ItNews, Rathi argues interpretation 49% consumer-to-61% it is proof that Apple has to convince consumers lose.
